Are You Building Their Assets or Yours?
Hey Reader,
Robert Kiyosaki talks about four quadrants: employed, self-employed, business owner, and investor.
Here’s what most people miss about being self-employed.
You’re still building someone else’s assets.
A freelance copywriter creates landing pages for clients. A ghostwriter builds newsletters for business owners. A designer makes logos for companies.
Every project you deliver becomes their asset. Not yours.
You get paid once. They benefit forever.
That’s the trap of self-employment. You’ve created a job for yourself where you trade time for money while building someone else’s wealth.
But here’s the interesting part: you’re already creating assets. You just haven’t packaged them yet.
You’ve written 100 newsletters? That’s expertise. You’ve designed 50 logos? That’s pattern recognition. You’ve built 30 landing pages? That’s a system waiting to be documented.
The path from self-employed to solopreneur isn’t complicated. Take everything you’ve done for clients and package it into assets you own.
Turn those 100 newsletters into a template. Build a course teaching your process. Create an AI tool trained on your approach. Write a guide. Record videos. Make frameworks.
Now you own the asset. Now income follows the asset instead of your hours.
This is the fundamental difference. Self-employed people work in their business. Solopreneurs build assets that work for them.
You already have the expertise. You already have the proof. You just need to stop giving it all away and start keeping some for yourself.
One Action: List the last 10 projects you completed for clients. What patterns do you see? That’s your first asset waiting to be packaged.
Stop building their wealth. Start building yours.
