Be Relentless, Not Reckless

Starting a business is hard.
It takes a lot to actually make it work.
Building a business — like everything in life — has a price.

I am all for doing a lot and being ambitious.
Yet, I see a lot of founders/entrepreneurs being reckless.
They break a lot of trust while they are not even getting started.

There is a big difference between being relentless and being reckless:

  • Reckless is uncontrolled and not directed.
  • Relentless is about being controlled and knowing where you want to go.
You can show your integrity by being relentless.

Often, being reckless means doing everything it takes —
without any ethical boundaries.

Being relentless is also about doing everything it takes
yet holding to your values.

Here comes the biggest difference:

You can be relentless and keep your ethics and values.

But — do you know your values?
These values will help your integrity stay high.

There is no use in getting what you want
if nobody wants to hang out with you.

That’s when scandals happen
and people distance themselves from you.

Before you start your mission,
think about your values.

You should never go against your values.
They are what keeps your foundation firm.

Even when it takes you longer to fully build your business,
and you might not make as much money early on —
it will make sure that you don’t lose yourself in the process
or break relationships along the way.

Being relentless always works in a season.
When you’re relentless, you don’t quit.
You can keep going without being wrecked.

This is an important difference.

What are your values?
