Death by 1000 Cuts

Hey Reader,

There is a daily battle going on.

We are at war.

Alone.

Nobody is watching.

We all know one enemy:

Procrastination.

It’s talked about a lot.
We don’t do what we want to do.

What if I tell you Procrastination is not even the biggest enemy?
There is an even bigger one in the room.

We are at war to defend our focus to do meaningful work,
yet distractions keep interrupting our focus.

Only a minute here.
And a minute there.

And we now say it’s procrastination giving resistance.
What did we try to do?
Oh well, let’s just chill.
Watch another YouTube video.
Just scroll another 5 mins on Instagram.

This way, Distraction got you anyway—
and Procrastination made sure that you won’t return.

The best way I found to kill Procrastination is to take on distractions.

When you’re not getting distracted every 5 minutes,
it’s much easier to stay focused.

It’s those little distractions that will lead to your death by 1000 cuts.

The danger is when you let distractions get the better of you for too long.
You will never get anywhere.
You will not go where you want to go.

So Focus would be your daily battle.

Distractions are so bad because they feel so little.
They seem so irrelevant.

But small distractions, repeated often enough, will pile up to a big problem and defocus your focus.

It’s the most important battle you can win.

It’s the problem for dads playing with kids.
And for entrepreneurs building a business.

Don’t let it go unnoticed.

Keep making a difference!

Your Jowi
