Declare War on the Hustle

I have to admit something.
I love my business and I really enjoy building businesses.
That might not be that surprising.

The surprising side is that I’m proud of how much I work.
50 hours a week is a good baseline.
(I’m actively not counting all things because the shadow schedule is a lot bigger.)

I started my business to build for my family, not to run from them.
Now I have a business that hides me from my family.

When I’m not working, I feel bad about not getting more done.
So I get back to it.

Work is deeply woven part of who we are.
We take great responsibility for what we do.

Often there is a competition between men who can work harder.

So—
We need to declare war on the golden hustle that our work tends to become.

My goal is to be present for my family by providing for them with my business.
I’m not willing to sacrifice my family for my business.

It’s this tension that is hard to manage, though.
This is why I’m working with the Revenue Routine
To make growing my business a habit.

Then I can grow my business on my habits stack and be there for my family.

This can’t be done though when we’re running on a hustle wagon.

Simple Scales, Fancy Fails This is a saying that has stuck with me for a while now. I don’t remember when I heard it first. It is an excellent reminder. I tend to overthink, overplan, overanalyze, and overdo many things in my life. There is a sense of perfection. It really has to be all prepared. Every detail has to look seamless. It should look cool. For it just to work is not good enough. Since hearing “Fancy Fails, Simple Scales” I keep reminding myself of that. We always keep thinking of…

This makes me sad, because there are so many things we can do.There are so many opportunities. It…

  • You Always Have a Choice

I just read a post from somebody complaining how bad his dream job is and how the system is responsible it’s so bad. This seems like it’s so acceptable today.Everything is responsible for you not thriving or getting where you want to go. The other day, I heard a young man say that he has issues with girls because of his mother. When we don’t have one person to blame, it’s so easy to just blame the system. In my humble opinion, those are weak excuses. You make everyone and everything around…
