From Ownership to Stewardship

How often have I walked through the world thinking that it all was mine?

My things belong to me.

It already starts with the young children. They have a hard time sharing their toys.

It’s really difficult for them to share.

Job says:“God gives. God takes away. Praise the Lord.”

For a long time, I didn’t understand how he could say something like that.

When I started to work on the Present Provider Concept, I started thinking about the foundation.

Why am I trying to start a business?

To provide for my family.

But business is not the only path to provide.

The fascinating thing is – the more I was working on building my business – the more I could see a pattern.

No matter how much I tried, God was in control.

He guided me. He blessed my actions, or He pushed me into failure – so that I would learn.

I have to trust in him.

Now that I started to see this – I also started to understand that everything belongs to God.

God is the creator.

He is in control.

He is the owner.

What does that make me?

God has called me into Stewardship.

I am a Steward of God.

He provides me with everything I need to really do my job well.

He trusted me with my wife.

He trusted me with my son.

He trusted me with my business.

They don’t belong to methey belong to God.

I am blessed to be their leader and to steward them for God.

So God put me in Power, but He didn’t give me Ownership.

He can bless. He can take.

Now I can say with Job:

“God gives. God may take away. Praise the Lord.”

It’s a hard lesson to learn, but it gives your life purpose, humility, and strength.

You have to act.

We all need to learn to become better stewards.

What do you have to be a Steward of?

Until next time,

Your Jowi

  • Success comes through Sacrifice

Hey Reader, Everything in life comes with a price tag. Not always do they have a $ (Dollar Sign) with them. Some are also connected to the cost of time. Some are decisions, either for or against. You can do many things, but you won’t be able to succeed in all. You do have many opportunities, but not the time to try them all. There is a correlation that I started to notice. The older I get, the more obvious it becomes. Every big victory comes with a price. There is no success without…

  • Don’t be too good to be true

Hey Reader, Every day I get DMs by people pitching me their service. I’m not a big fan of cold DMs or cold outreach, but there is an even bigger problem ahead. There is another inflation going around. Next to the financial inflation, there is also the offer inflation. I do enjoy most of the content by Alex Hormozi and I have both his books. There is a side effect of the $100M Offers book. Many juniors are starting out and create an offer that is “irresistible.” I agree with Alex Hormozi to…

  • Don’t Build a Business That Pays $1.50/hr

There is something that bugs me a lot… It’s a new trend that steals fathers away from their families. It’s the lifestyle side hustle. I’m all about building a business to provide for your family. But to me, it’s more than just delivering a pay-check. It’s about becoming a Present Provider. Yet, I observe so many fathers stepping into the world of business with a side hustle mentality. The goal is to make a little extra money on the side. The idea is often a little extra on cash by making some…
