Have you ever trained your thinking?
Greetings Reader,
Have you ever trained your thinking?
Yesterday I was talking to a client about structuring your thoughts. We were chatting how he could get his idea on paper. He said that he needs time to come up with an idea.
So I coached him through his idea. Every question got him one step closer. As we worked the pieces came together.
When you have clarity of thought it’s simple to fill in the writing or speaking.
One thing I see is when your idea becomes clear, then it can almost be taught by anyone. When I done a client finds his signature message the thinking is so clear, that I can pick up their notes and teach it as well.
Not because I’m an expert in their field, but their thinking is clear. So I can pick up their thoughts.
All of that builds on the habit of thinking. When ideas are loose and thoughts are cluttered the message won’t shine.
When you haven’t trained your thinking yet, here are two ideas to start with:
- Start writing your journal. The act of writing with a pen on paper is forcing to think passively. You just let the pen write.
- If that sounds too challenging start with option 2:
Write a question on the top of the page.
Then answer this question. When you feel like you have reached the end of an answer, ask yourself: What’s next? What about? Those questions lead you deeper. This is where the fun begins. Think outloud!
Yours in Stewardship
Jowi
