How are you managing the risk of your business?
Greetings Reader,
We all know that entrepreneurship has some risk involved. We can’t change that. Yet it’s not all that risky when you start looking closer.
One thing I often hear is that your paycheck is secure. It comes every week. That is true. Yet it depends on the business that’s paying you doing good.
That’s why even in jobs there are different levels of security.
The great advantage is that all businesses hiring have found a way to create cashflow.
Now we’re actually coming to the most interesting point:
All security in jobs and business is bonded to cash flow.
In essence the risky question is: how good are you at creating cashflow and at keeping the cashflow steady and then at keeping the cashflow next go up.
Sure there is one more side risk: Revenue does not mean profit.
That’s another lesson for another day.
We can say that risk lives on the scales of these levers in cash flow. Those three are the same for all people.
When you have a job you might not see the connection so obviously, but we have a general understanding (even when I don’t necessarily like it) that your value can be measured in cash.
This equation works for everybody in the workforce: Employee, Business Owner and yes Founders too.
How are you managing the risk of your business?
Yours in Stewardship
Jowi
