Obsession Is a Curse and a Blessing
Hey Reader,
Obsession gets a bad reputation.
We call dedicated people admirable. We call obsessed people unhealthy.
But they’re the same thing with different labels.
To be 100% dedicated to an outcome means you’re 100% obsessed with it. You think about it constantly. You organize your life around it. You can’t turn it off.
That’s both the curse and the blessing.
The curse is obvious. It consumes you. Takes over your thoughts. Makes it hard to be present anywhere else.
The blessing? It’s the only way to actually achieve difficult things.
Here’s what I see constantly online: people wanting the outcome without the obsession.
They want to scale their business while sipping margaritas on the beach. They want passive income with minimal effort. They want AI to handle the hard parts.
Those two things don’t align.
You can’t do 10% of the required work and expect 100% of the results.
Building a real business demands real effort. Not just once. Consistently. Over years.
That requires obsession.
I’m not romanticizing burnout. I’m not saying destroy your health or ignore your family.
I’m saying if you want to reach the next level, you need to be willing to think about it more than feels comfortable. Work on it more than feels balanced. Care about it more than other people think is normal.
That’s what separates people who scale from people who stay stuck.
The ones who scale are obsessed. They can’t help it.
The ones who stay stuck are waiting for a system, a tool, or an automation to do the obsessing for them.
It doesn’t work that way.
Even the best automation can’t save a business run by someone who isn’t willing to be fully committed.
Action: Be honest with yourself today. Are you dedicated enough to be called obsessed? If not, either increase your commitment or adjust your expectations.
