Passive Income is King (actually not)
When I started out I fell in love with the idea of Passive Income.
People online were talking about it.
They can live anywhere and have complete financial freedom.
This sounded so good.
They release a product and let it sell while you sleep.
There is a sad reality about this one though:
Passive Income is a myth.
For income to be created, there has to be value exchanged.
This value needs to be created.
Actively created.
So I spent a few years building out my “passive income”.
I had to create the products.
I had to do the marketing.
People that don’t know you exist and have something to offer will never buy from you.
That’s just the reality.
I spent hours and hours without earning one cent.
I did manage to sell some products —
but my hourly rate in the end was around €1.50 per hour.
I would’ve made 10x that flipping burgers.
Now, I do have to admit:
It was well worth it because I learned a lot of skills.
It just wasn’t the promised passive income.
There is one more thing people don’t tell you about Passive Income:
You need to actively keep it up to date.
And you must stay informed as our industry changes.
This is exactly why a lot of bloggers didn’t make it after ChatGPT was introduced.
When you want to make it in business and work for yourself 2025-today —
You must support yourself.
