Quality Content Is a Cheap Excuse
Hey Reader,
I need to say something unpopular.
When someone tells me they only focus on quality content, I hear laziness.
Not always. But often enough that it’s worth calling out.
Here’s the problem: how do you know what quality looks like?
You might say it needs to meet your standards. Needs to be polished. Needs to feel right before you hit publish.
But that’s subjective. That’s your opinion. That’s your fear dressed up as standards.
The algorithm doesn’t care about your opinion. Your audience doesn’t care about your internal quality bar.
They care about what resonates. What helps. What makes them stop scrolling.
You can’t know that without data.
I’ve posted three times a day for over 100 days now. Some posts I thought were brilliant flopped. Some I threw together in ten minutes became my best performers.
That’s the point. I couldn’t have known without testing.
When you hide behind quality as a reason to post less, you’re robbing yourself of the feedback you need to actually improve.
You’re operating on assumptions instead of evidence.
I’m not saying spam your audience. I’m not saying post garbage.
I’m saying figure out how to scale quality. Do more while maintaining or improving your standard.
Find systems. Build processes. Use tools. Get faster at production without sacrificing substance.
I made 300 YouTube videos before I started to understand what my audience actually wanted. And I still second-guess my content today.
Does that mean I wasn’t making quality content? Maybe. Probably not in the beginning.
But I’m better now because I did the work. Because I created enough quantity to generate the data I needed.
Stop using quality as an excuse to avoid the discomfort of shipping imperfect work.
Action: Commit to posting daily for the next 7 days. Track what performs. Let the data teach you what quality actually means.
