Stick to the basics

Hey Reader,

Often I feel like I could skip ahead. Like I know what it’s about and then I fast forward.

This newsletter today is an important reminder for myself as well.

When my son was a bit younger, like last year, he was trying to walk. He was practicing one step at a time.

Now, when we’re going to the park, he loves to run around.

There are situations where he is less comfortable. So he slows down.

He takes it one step at a time.

Obviously, it doesn’t always work. He falls down and gets back up.

That’s a lesson for another day.

He slows down to focus on each step again.

He is focused on the basics.

Often I feel like sprinting.

In reality, I should slow down and focus on the basics.

We try to post everywhere daily. Reach out to clients. Do so much more.

Especially in the beginning of a business, there are just so many things to do.

This is when I have to remind myself.

When I’m overwhelmed and feel the strain, I gotta slow down and stick to the basics.

Focus on taking it one step at a time.

For this, you need to understand what you’re doing. You also need to know your priorities.

For me, this means customer success first.

What can I do to help my clients succeed this moment?

Only one thing.

What is non-negotiable on my list?

For me, this is my newsletter.

It’s my personal letter to you.

So writing my newsletter is also helpful to slow down.

Take a step back. Focus on the basics.

Then take one step forward.

What’s your one thing today?

  • In Business the winner is always the tortoise

Most people start their business as the hare.Sprinting through the tasks. I did that too — thinking the amount of work is what makes the difference. So I tried to become more efficient. • The Trap of the Absent Provider

I’m struggling. My challenge is that I love my family and my business. I’m a passionate guy… I’m either all in or all out. I wish to honor God with serving my family, and I wish to honor God with serving my clients. There seems to be a challenge, though. I don’t serve my family by being fully present for them. (On the other side)I serve my clients best when I’m fully present with them. I know there’s a lot of chatter on the internet about the lifestyle business and passive income. This would…

  • First Five For Free

Hey Reader, When I was in the early stages, I didn’t have any clients. I knew that I wanted clients. They also had to pay, because why would I fix it cheaply for free? This felt like it would be silly. I went on to do calls. Pitched myself on DMs. Tried all the things that people advise to do. Yet I couldn’t get clients. What changed for me was when I looked at how the big guys started. Alex Hormozi started his fitness coaching by doing offers on his private Facebook profile for people to…

  • To Give is to Get

Hey Reader, How often have you heard:“But he did it first!” Many kids justify their actions as reactions. They say, look at the other person… they are so much worse than I am. We see this today with adults, too—when they put blame on others as an excuse for their bad behavior. It makes me sad to see it in the news every day: “I’m not to blame.” “He was already doing it.” “I’m not as bad as he is.” These are all statements of giving back what you’ve received—with the point of escape or…
