Stop Innovating. Start Executing.
Hey Reader,
Most solopreneurs fail because they over-engineer everything.
They have a simple idea that could work. Then they destroy it by making it too complicated.
I see this all the time. Someone wants to start a coaching business. Instead of coaching three people and learning what works, they spend six months building the perfect framework. They create elaborate systems. They design a proprietary methodology. They innovate themselves into paralysis.
Here’s the truth nobody wants to hear: Your business doesn’t need innovation. It needs execution.
The businesses that win aren’t doing anything revolutionary. They’re doing the obvious things well. Really well.
Want to grow your newsletter? Write every day and talk to your readers. That’s it. Not complicated.
Want clients? Reach out to people who need your help. Have real conversations. Make offers. Simple.
Want to stand out? Don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Just execute the basics better than everyone else who’s half-committed.
The problem is we think our idea needs to be so groundbreaking that it becomes impossible to build. We convince ourselves that unless we create something nobody has ever seen before, we’ll fail.
But people don’t need another innovative solution. They need someone who actually delivers on the obvious one.
Stop asking “How can I make this more complex?” Start asking “How can I execute this so well that it actually works?”
The winning move isn’t the most creative idea. It’s the most obvious solution, executed with excellence.
One Action: Take your current business idea and remove everything that makes it “innovative.” What’s left? That’s what you should build first. Do that one obvious thing better than anyone else.
Excellence beats innovation every single time.
