Stop Throwing Spaghetti at the Wall
Hey Reader,
Everyone says to throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks.
I think that’s terrible advice.
Here’s why: When you’re just starting out, you don’t need more experiments. You need one thing that actually works.
The spaghetti method keeps you busy. It makes you feel productive. But it doesn’t teach you anything useful because you’re testing too many things at once.
You try five different offers. Three different platforms. Two different messaging angles. Then something kind of works. But you have no idea which variable made the difference.
So you can’t repeat it. You can’t improve it. You just got lucky once and now you’re back to guessing.
I did this for two years. Tried everything. Tested constantly. Posted everywhere. And stayed broke the entire time because I never committed to anything long enough to actually understand it.
Here’s what changed: I picked one thing. One offer. One platform. One message. And I ran it until I could prove it worked or prove it didn’t.
That’s the difference. Proving something works requires focus. Throwing spaghetti requires none.
When you focus, you learn the actual mechanics. You see what your audience responds to. You understand why they buy or why they don’t. You can iterate on real feedback instead of guessing in the dark.
The spaghetti throwers never get this knowledge. They’re too busy throwing to pay attention to what actually landed.
First, prove one thing works. Then you can optimize it. Then you can add complexity. But starting with chaos just keeps you stuck in chaos.
Your move: Stop everything you’re testing right now except one thing. Pick your best offer or your best platform. Run it for 30 days straight without changing course. Learn from it. Then decide what to do next.
Focus beats experimentation every single time.
