The Core Problem: No Awareness = No BusinessIf nobody knows you, nobody knows your business, your mission, or your products. This means no sales, no growth, and, ultimately, no business. Let’s explore why so many people struggle with this and how to change it.
But don’t worry—I’ll walk you through the five stages of brand awareness, and you’ll learn how to move your audience from unawareness to a purchase. Here’s how, step by step: Step 1: Unawareness – The Ocean (Novice Questions)In the beginning, your audience is like a salmon swimming in a vast ocean—unaware of their problem or your solution. At this stage, you need to create content that educates and builds awareness of the issues they face. They don’t know yet that they have a problem, so you have to help them recognize it. Step 2: Problem Awareness – The Shore (Advanced Beginner Questions)As your audience swims closer to the shore, they become aware that they have a problem, but they don’t know how to solve it. At this stage, your content should introduce the next steps, such as why personal branding might be the solution they need. Entrepreneurs skip this step and jump straight to selling, but without showing your audience the problem, they won’t be ready to buy. Step 3: Solution Awareness – The Stream (Competence Questions)Now your audience knows there’s a solution to their problem, but they don’t know which product or service will solve it. This is the time to show them how your personal brand can help and introduce them to content marketing strategies. Step 4: Product Awareness – The River (Proficient Questions)At this point, your audience knows about your product, but they aren’t fully aware of everything it does or how it works. Your job here is to educate them on the benefits of turning their personal brand into a Personal Media Company—show proof, case studies, and examples of how it works. Step 5: Most Aware – The Shallows (Expert Questions)Now your audience knows about your product and its value, but they haven’t bought it yet. They might need a final push—like a compelling reason to buy right now. This is where I invite my audience to claim the last spot in my October coaching program, where they’ll learn the eight steps of building a Personal Media Company using the Fruit Forest Framework. ConclusionFrom ocean to shallow waters, your audience goes through different stages of awareness, and your content must guide them every step of the way. When done right, your personal brand will grow, and your business will thrive. If you’re ready to take your personal brand to the next level, check out my coaching program, and let’s build your Personal Media Company together. Until next Time on the Roots to Revenue.
