The Faster You Have Fun, The Longer You Last
Hey Reader,
Most solopreneurs quit before they ever get good.
Not because they’re lazy. Not because they lack talent. They quit because business stops being fun before it starts working.
I heard about this concept called “time to fun” on the My First Million podcast. It’s simple. How fast can you get to the part that’s actually enjoyable?
In video games, if it takes 40 hours before the game gets good, most people never make it. In business, if it takes 18 months before you see any traction, most people burn out.
Here’s the problem with over-engineered businesses. They push the fun part so far into the future that you never reach it.
You spend months building systems. Creating frameworks. Designing the perfect offer. All the heavy lifting happens before you ever talk to a real person or make a single dollar.
That’s why simple execution wins. It gets you to the fun part faster.
When you help your first client solve a real problem this week, that’s fun. When someone replies to your email thanking you for your insight, that’s fun. When you have a conversation that leads to a sale, that’s fun.
The businesses that last aren’t built by people with the best ideas. They’re built by people who found a way to enjoy the journey before the results showed up.
If your business model requires you to suffer for a year before anything good happens, you won’t make it. Nobody does.
One Action: Find one thing in your business you can do this week that will feel rewarding, regardless of the outcome. A conversation. Publishing something. Helping someone for free. Reduce your time to fun.
Make it simple enough that you can enjoy building it. That’s how you stick with it long enough to win.
