The Marathon No One Told Me About

Business is not a One Time Thing.
It is a lifelong journey.

Many believe that they can win in business fast.
At least when I look at their actions, they work like they are done in one year.

That’s also how I got started.
Thinking I just need to post 5 videos to YouTube and it will go viral.
Then I create one product for $100 and I’ll be rich.

Those were the three steps I thought would be what business was about.

Now 8 years later—I learned it takes a lot more to run a successful business.
The work never stops.

I was sprinting in a marathon.
I thought the goal line was at 100 yards,
when in reality it is at the end of my life.

That’s when the Father & Founder Tug-of-War started to happen.
Because guess what—
Being a Father is also not a One Time Thing.
It only begins with the birth.

Now I’ll be a father for the rest of my life.

With my mind 180% focused on my business (because I thought it would only be for a little),
I wasn’t really there for my family.

I was in the room.
I was at the dinner table.
But my mind was gone.
I was absent.

This is when I knew I had to change.

I needed to run my business, where it is a lifelong journey.
And I knew that I had to be fully present for my family as well.

That’s the beginning of the Present Provider.

  • Why I’m All In to Help Dads Succeed

Hey Reader, When I was starting out with my first ideas of what to do as a business— I was looking to help troubled teenagers. They felt hurt by the system and had a life of trouble. One idea was to start a farm where they could learn and feel a healthy routine and environment. This idea was undoubtedly expensive. Then I asked myself:What would make the issue go away? Hey Reader, I like to push myself to test my limits.Sometimes in the past, I’ve pushed myself too far. At 22, I almost had a burnout.I have stomach issues ever since. I wasn’t a great student in school.I did what had to be done. This was the minimum to be average. Yet when I really wanted something,I could go above and beyond to get it.I just went for it and figured it out. Sadly, in our school system,we get taught that the cool kids are not trying hard.Cool kids are lazy and care less. It flows into our culture today, where you get made fun of for trying hard. This makes me sad, because there are so many things we can do.There are so many opportunities. It…
