The two drivers that build every relationship

Greetings Reader,

Over the last few years I’ve really observed how relationships are built. There are two main drivers intensity and longevity.

When you went on a summer camp in the good old school days. You had your cabin brothers. You’d do it all together. It really felt like a deep brotherhood. Those relationships are built on a shared intense time.

The opposite often is your old school friends. You would do daily life together. Most of the time it felt less intense and more like they’re just there. These are built over the long time horizon.

What happens though when we add both together?

The most precious relationship to me is with my wife. We are living our daily life together. This is the longevity. Then we also have so many intense moments. We are together in all moments. This is what builds the relationship so strong.

Now the question is: what can we learn from this for our business?

The number 1 thing I hear is: Nobody lives up to buy from me. The next thing would be, but I’ve sent over 200 cold DMs.

Can we place those two on the Relationship driver scale?

How long is the interaction and how intense is it?

This is why daily posting doesn’t seem like its doing much on its own. Its just daily life. It’s needed to build the familiarity.

The together question is: are you doing something to build the intense moments? Where relationships are formed?

No? Then get brainstorming. When you need help coming up with something remember I’m just a reply button distance away from you.

Get going! You got this!

Yours in Stewardship

Jowi

  • It All Comes Back to Communication

Greetings Reader, Over the weekend I had a few chats with a friend on the effects of AI. We will be in for a ride. Sure the opportunities are endless. It will get stronger and better, but it also feels like we’re losing more and more the human touch. I’m trying to figure out how to talk about business without touching the subject of AI. The development is just so much faster than I anticipated. I’ve been in this space now since the launch of GPT 3,5. And it’s been a wild ride. I can promise…

  • The Three Models That Help You Move Fast

Greetings Reader, Last night I spoke with a lot of Founders at a local event. There is one pattern that kept coming up. I’m planning this. I’m waiting on this. I haven’t gotten the feedback yet. All those statements are holding your business back. They will lock and keep you stuck, because you gave the power to act away. Over the past years I’ve tried to study the greed and there are three models that help you move fast. Urgency is the mover. Urgency means to just close the gap between…

  • The Fight Between Persuasion and Manipulation

Greetings Reader, Recently I did a deep dive into the world of communication. There are generally two different skillsets to communication. One is the personal communication. Your journal to your dinner table conversation. When we enter the arena of public communications we have a lot of traditions. We have the historic school of the Orator – aka. Speaker. Over the centuries we have seen a specialization. The speaker was trained in propaganda. The Art of public persuasion. After the second…

  • The Hidden Truth Behind Consistency (not many know)

The first advice people will hear is to be consistent. Post daily. Stick to your schedule. Be consistent. Most give this advice without giving you the understanding of why it matters. “When everybody is consistent, I’m not able to stand out.” That’s what I often hear as a response. “I need to focus on my quality, since everybody is focused on quantity.” This is also a false belief. Since you don’t even know what quantity is. So back to the advice to be consistent. Most people that try…

  • Don’t chase cheap leads

All businesses are constantly on the lookout for fast, cheap leads. They want to get new leads ASAP. A lot of founders opt for tactics to grow. Tactics might get you leads today — but the thing is:Tactics change fast. Growing your business with tactics is like day trading. The top 1% is making money, but the rest is paying for it. There is no scalable, reliable growth for your business gambling with tactics. There is a secret behind the top 1%: They use tactics on top of systems. We need to…
