There is one lesson I’ve learned over the years that really took me a while.
Greetings Reader,
There is one lesson I’ve learned over the years that really took me a while.
In the beginning I was one that jumped from opportunity to opportunity as it promised me faster results.
Instagram is booming… so I jumped to Instagram. You gotta be on X, sorry Twitter…. so I went to Twitter. And then to YouTube and then to LinkedIn.
I have spent by far the most time with YouTube. I have 6 channels. I wanted to test some ideas. Can you guess something?
Which one channel performs better: Channel 1 with 60 videos all uploaded within 60 days or Channel 2 with 320 videos, uploaded over 3 years?
What if I told you that Channel 2 hasn’t seen a new video in 2 years. And Channel 1 has been uploaded a bit over a year ago?
Does this change your answer?
The 2nd channel by far outperforms Channel 1.
It doubled its subscribers from when I actively uploaded to when I didn’t upload. It still pulls between 6,000 to 10,000 views per month.
This is proof that you can’t sprint a marathon. You still need to put in the miles and that just takes time. Sure there are strategies that work better and some that won’t work at all.
But it just takes time.
The lesson that took me so long to learn? It is to find people you can share the journey with. I am now building exactly the community I’d liked back then. If you want to check it out reply, better speak “friend” and you may enter.
Yours in Stewardship
Jowi
