We need to pay attention to our time – PPL No. 175
One thing that fascinates me right now is the idea of what will change in the next 5–10 years. AI is just beginning. There are billions invested into AI on the monthly. The update cycles speed up. There is more and more happening.
Yet, there is one thing that is not scaling.
That is our time.
No matter how much we try, we can’t change the fact that our day has only 24 hours. We can cut back on sleep. We can either do work or spend time with our family. 24 hours is the hard limit.
Though, there is no other way I know that many are excited about AI more than more efficient.
I’m excited to find ways that make me more effective.
The difference is in the thinking.
I’m not trying to make my ways better.
I’m trying to rethink what the most effective ways is going to be to reach my goal.
This also means I’m willing to take a detour to fundamentally change my workflow.
On this note, I’m getting more and more sensitive to the way I’m using my time.
That also means I’m rethinking who has access to my calendar.
This is so fundamental:
Our time and attention is the most scarce resource — and yet it is what we touch the least.
