What if it doesn’t work?

How often have you second-guessed yourself?
I still do it almost daily.

It’s hard sometimes. I’m trying, and I pour it all in.
There is still a part of my brain saying:
What if it doesn’t work?
What if I’m just making a fool out of myself?

There are so many little feelings of doubt.
The one thing I tell myself — and it’s definitely going to come true — is the truth:

When nothing gets done, you will also not get any reward.

When the question of what if it doesn’t work? paralyzes me —
then it will not work.

So the only response to doubt is to take action.

No matter how much you think about it, action is the only thing that will make a difference.

There can be a tiny action.
It needs to result in getting something done.

What if this newsletter will fail?
Then it’s first going to fail because I never wrote it.

The first thing to make sure the newsletter is going to win is to write it first.

When I send my newsletter regularly and consistently, it is the first step done.

Too many people complain about not seeing any results — and having too many doubts.
Yet most of them don’t take the action required.

It is hard to take action because it feels so dumb to take action when you’re in doubt.

You will doubt it until it works — and it’ll only work when you took action.

That’s the paradox.

We need to sow the seed before we see the harvest.
We need to trust the plan.
That from the seed in the ground there will be harvest.

That’s the work required for us to do.

So get to work.
Then you will also have a harvest.

  • Don’t Judge a Business by Its Social Media

It is so interesting. A lot of people judge the business by their social following. He got 100k followers—he must have a massive business! Somehow we doubt that small accounts are bigger businesses. I stopped looking at the following and started to look for the actual interaction. There is a lot to be said about the right likes. You can tell fast which small accounts don’t work — because they tell you. With bigger accounts, it’s getting harder to see the difference. The funny thing is: A lot…

  • Followers Aren’t Created Equal

I see this so often in the last years:Creators come up. Think all they need to do to make money and drive a brand is to build a big following online. There is the idea that any following is going to make you rich. Your following just needs to be big enough. But the reality is that followers aren’t created equal. I would trade 1,000 followers on Instagram for 1,000 subscribers on YouTube any day. I’d also rather have 1,000 subscribers to my newsletter than 1 million TikTok followers. This is…

  • The Marathon No One Told Me About

Business is not a One Time Thing. It is a lifelong journey. Many believe that they can win in business fast. At least when I look at their actions, they work like they are done in one year. That’s also how I got started. Thinking I just need to post 5 videos to YouTube and it will go viral. Then I create one product for $100 and I’ll be rich. Those were the three steps I thought would be what business was about. Now 8 years later—I learned it takes a lot more to run a successful business. The…

  • Do This When You’re Just Starting Out

There is only one thing that matters in business: Helping people more, better and in new ways.People want help. Become the go-to person for your people for the subject. You can be friendly. You can be nice. In the end all that it comes down to is:Is it actually working? Because people only care about results. Do you help them achieve what they want? I have also struggled to understand this point. If you’re not getting results, people will eventually leave. On the contrary, if you get them…

  • Reflections on my Birthday – Yesterday I turned 29

Reflections on my 29th Birthday 10 years ago I made a decision. The decision was to study forestry. At the time I thought it would be the best way for me to lay the foundation for my future family. Reflecting back on that, it has been an amazing 10 years – totally not what I expected though. The biggest joy of those years has definitely been that I could marry my beautiful wife. Second to that is the birth of our son. This makes me now responsible for my family. I could also learn a lot about…
