What if You Actually Tried?

I wasn’t a great student in school.
I did what had to be done.
This was the minimum to be average.

Yet when I really wanted something,
I could go above and beyond to get it.
I just went for it and figured it out.

Sadly, in our school system,
we get taught that the cool kids are not trying hard.
Cool kids are lazy and care less.

It flows into our culture today,
where you get made fun of for trying hard.

This makes me sad, because there are so many things we can do.
There are so many opportunities.

It all comes down to how bad do you really want it?

Marriage isn’t 50/50. It’s 100/100.
At trying times’ it’s more 120/120.
You have to give it your best shot.

One question I keep wondering about is:

What would be with your life if you actually tried?

Put in all your effort.
Not half-assing.
Not giving a little bit.
Not so little that you can say as an excuse:

“I didn’t even give it my best.”

Do it and hold nothing back.

What would you have to lose?
Yes, if I fail, I would maybe fall a little harder,
but I could walk away knowing my best wasn’t enough.

And guess what?
I will not be worse off.
I would learn a lot.

But what if it actually works?

Then I’d be so much further ahead.

Sadly, the reality is:
most won’t do it.

Which means the few that do try hard
can have a better chance of getting it done.

Hold nothing back,
because it’s not yours to keep.
You can only win.

So what would happen if you actually tried?
