What “passive income” misses entirely

We have so many conversations about passive income. It seems to be the holy grail for some with an online business. A high passive MRR (monthly recurring revenue) is the dream to have all freedom. You can do whatever you want to do.

Yet there is an issue with it on two ends.

First: there is no passive work.
Second: we are made to work.

In order to make money — we actually need to do something that offers help to somebody. We don’t make money — we earn it for value exchanged. Anything else might work short term, but long term will fall flat.

I am pleased with a job well done because it was transformational for someone else. A business is part of a community. So not a self-serving idea, as we might seem to think in an online world.

The second end is that men were created to do work. We are supposed to find joy and pleasure in the work we do. This is why a job well done is so meaningful.

Yet when we retire, there is a sense of lost purpose. Even when I like the idea of having all my time to my family. Even when that’s the case and I love spending time with my family, there is something satisfying in getting a job well done.

For both of these reasons:
I believe there is no passive work and therefore also no passive income.

That’s why I’m building a business for my family to be a part of.
Like farmers used to take their kids along — I’m training my family to build a family domain in the online world like a digital farm.

  • You Always Have a Choice

I just read a post from somebody complaining how bad his dream job is and how the system is responsible it’s so bad. This seems like it’s so acceptable today.Everything is responsible for you not thriving or getting where you want to go. The other day, I heard a young man say that he has issues with girls because of his mother. When we don’t have one person to blame, it’s so easy to just blame the system. In my humble opinion, those are weak excuses. You make everyone and everything around…

  • Nobody Asked Me This Question…

One thing I keep thinking about is how slow I was going. In the beginning, I kept telling people about all the ideas and plans I had. The response I got was cool. They were all excited for me and interested in what I would do. Yet nobody asked me how fast I can do it. This is the most important question after all. Most of us start solo. So we are our fastest bottleneck too. Our runway is not long. The only question that matters is:How fast can you ship a product to get real results? The…

He has a blast and we all enjoy watching him.He looks pretty cute. I see a similar pattern in most Personal Brands. They play pretend business. They see the big guys on…

  • Business is Boring!

Hey Reader, In so many videos I’ve watched over the years, there is often the idea that business is so exciting. There is always something new happening. There is always change. You’re in a high-speed car chase. While I definitely get that—especially when you’re starting out—you always want to be overwhelmed. The reality is that business is boring. There is not much happening once you find a routine that works. The main goal is to stick to that routine as long as you can. I do like to be by…
